Update

Somehow in the middle of Derby madness all I am thinking about is The Beatles :) I have been working on designing Tshirts -- both for the staff to wear and for all you Beatleheads to purchase. We have also been working on cool collectible giveaways for the courier-journal.com booth and tons more behind the scenes stuff like banners and signage.

As it gets closer the anticipation grows. There is still a lot of work in the next 35 days, but wow how great is it going to be come May 24?

45 days and 2 feet of snow

As many of you know, our main office is in Cleveland, OH. It's where AROTR began in 2002.

Well, if you are a weather channel watcher, you know we have been hit with a blizzard that began Wed night, and is still upon us. I have over 2 feet of snow in my driveway.

Leaves me free to work all day on AROTR!. Big week ahead for us. On tap are TV ads, print ads, and multiple production assignments.

We have unveiled our new jingle-written and performed by Hal Bruce. It's on the AROTR web site-give it a listen.

I hope you all have a great Easter-talk soon

Where to start?

Well I am not sure where to start. What a wonderful opportunity to be able to share my love of The Beatles with all of you folks out there. I just hope that I can do their music and the festival justice with my little commentaries on here.

Working on this festival has been a dream come true for me. It is just about the closest thing that I could get to working with The Beatles themselves. I hope that all of you are half as excited about it as I am! As time gets closer I hope to share more information about the festival and the goings-on and of course when it gets here I am hoping to share the insider perspective... hopefully with lots of pictures and stories!

Our new fab cj.com arotr blog

Boy, that's a mouthful. We here at the production office in Cleveland are so excited to have this forum to talk about the big event coming to Louisville, very soon. Only 50 days until we all meet to rock out to the best rock music of all time. To keep you all in the loop, we are going to try to give a play by play backstage glimpse into the inner workings, warts and all, at AROTR HQ.

Today, so far, we have had 4 conference calls on Love, the album recreation. Participating were Hal Bruce, Mark Rashotte, Andy Forgie, and Mark Beyer of The Rigbys. Love is indeed a complex and exacting piece, and we all aim to make it perfect.

Our lead violin chair, Rachel Blanton, missed the calls because she was in traffic court for speeding...when will these kids learn?

Lisa and I spend time on tickets, wristbands, and band related matters. Carol Gifford, our PR guru, was strategizing some ideas to publicize Love, and the newly announced schedule.

The Louisville Convention and Visitors Bureau called to brainstorm an exciting pre event PR "stunt"..I'll keep you posted.

Throw in some band calls, some stage and sound issues, food concessions, ads, and equipment rentals and we are 1/2 way thru the day. Every day at AROTR HQ is a wild wide from start to finish. But we love it and we know you do, too
